1.What is the refund policy?

We at 5 on 5 Football League want to offer the most flexibility with our refund policy. However, upon registration, we begin forming teams, ordering jerseys and closing registration for age groups that fill up. Due to this our refund policy is as follows:
• 30 days from close of registration is a 90% refund.
• 14 -30 days from close of registration is a 50% refund.
• There is NO refund within 2 weeks of close of registration.

2. What happens on rain days and how will we know if a game is cancelled?

3. How does the league decide which kids play on what team?

During the registration process we ask a few questions regarding experience. We try to create teams with an equal weight of experience, age and home location. In addition, we do our best to accommodate family and friends playing together.

4. How many players are on a team?

It will depend on final registration. Our goal is between 8-10 per team.

5. Does the league supply uniforms?

Yes, 5 on 5 Football will supply official reversible jerseys.

6. Who are the officials and are they qualified?

Our officials are professionals who become certified 5 on 5 Flag Football referees. Keep in mind that they have to watch 10 players at a time, as well as, follow the ball through the play. It is important that we as players, coaches and spectators respect and appreciate this when we may have a different opinion of a call. Remember this league is about fun and sportsmanship before winning and losing.

7. How much playing time can my child expect?

Each player will get equal playing time. The rotation system in place is used to assist the coaches in ensuring that this happens.

8. What types of awards are given?

Each player will receive a participation trophy and certificate. In addition, the teams that place 1st and 2nd in the tournament will receive trophies. Our most prestige’s trophy will go to the team that the referees and league directors rate highest in Sportsmanship. Each game the referees will rate the players, coaches and spectators based on core sportsmanship values. At the end of the season, these numbers will be tallied and a team from each division will win the award.

9. What are the age groups?

The age groups are as follows: 5-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-14. (Classifications to the age brackets are subject to change slightly based on the number of registrants in each age bracket.)

10. How often do teams practice and are they mandatory?

Coaches can hold no more than (1) practice per weekday lasting no more than 2 hours. The coaches will also hold 1 practice lasting no more than 1 hour prior to the game.

11. How long are the games?

The regular season games will consist of 2 – 20 minutes half’s with a 5-minute halftime break. With timeouts estimate 50 minutes total per game.

12. What do I get for my registration fee?

Seven weeks of flag football and fun! In addition to that, one or two weekends of tournament play and an authentic 5 on 5 Flag Football Jersey. Also, every player receives one participation certificate and trophy at the end of the season and a chance to win the championship trophy during the Tournament and the Sportsmanship Trophy at the end of the season. Equal playing time for all kids.

13. Will there be any games on holiday weekends?

Nothing scheduled. We may use the Memorial Day weekend as a make-up weekend for any rain-out days.

14. Will teams play at the same registered locations?

Usually. We begin registration with the goal of all games played at the area you registered. However, based on registrations we may have teams play part of their season at another field. Fortunately, all fields are within a few miles of each other.

15. Is there equal playing time for all kids?

Yes. The 5 on 5 Football promotes participation, fun and learning the fundamentals of football. Coaches are instructed to allocate equal playing time for all kids and we use a rotation system that will help coaches with rotation.

16. How many coaches per team?

Our coaches are parent volunteers. We would like to designate a Head Coach and an Assistant Coach for each team.

17. How much time will be required for volunteer coaches?

We will require you to have one practice (60-120 minutes) during the week and one (60 minute) practice prior to the game. Each game will take approximately 50 minutes. Total time required will be 3-4 hours per week.

18. When, where and what times are the games?

Games will be played at the location you choose during registration. Specific game times are available on the home page.
